We collect only what the app needs to work:
We use your data to detect whether a recording contains a cat vocalization, generate interpretations of your uploads, keep your history, pet profiles, and mood summaries, restore your purchases on a new device, and improve the service. We don't sell your data and we don't use your uploads for advertising.
We share data only with these providers, each under our control:
Apple processes the payment itself when you buy a subscription. We only receive your purchase status from RevenueCat — never your card details or Apple ID information.
None of them may use your data for their own purposes.
We keep your cat profiles, photos, recordings, and history for as long as your account is active, so your history and mood summaries keep working. If you delete a translation, or delete your account, we delete the associated data within 30 days. Purchase records may be kept longer where accounting or tax rules require it.
You can delete your account yourself from Settings → Delete my account in the app. This removes your cat profiles, photos, recordings, and history. It does not cancel an Apple subscription — cancel that separately in your Apple ID settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions). You can also email us to request deletion.
If you're in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct (rectification), delete (erasure), and download (portability) your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Our legal bases: performing our contract with you (operating the app), legitimate interests (improving the service), and consent where required (for example, optional analytics).
To exercise any right, email us — we respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
California residents have the right to know what personal data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the "sale" of personal data. We do not sell personal data — to anyone, ever. Exercising these rights never changes the price or availability of the service.
The app uses a small number of essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We use privacy respectful, aggregated analytics to understand which features are used — nothing that identifies you personally is shared with analytics providers.
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where data leaves the EU/UK, we rely on recognized safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses to keep it protected.
Yipp is not directed at children under 13 (16 in the EU). We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Data is encrypted in transit, stored with our managed hosting provider, and protected by row-level access controls. Access to your data is limited to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your pet's meows like the treasures they are.
If we change this policy in a way that affects how your data is handled, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and tell you in the app.
